The course aims at discussing the role of formal and informal institutions for economic and social development and developing capacities of analysis and debate through a continuous interaction in classes and group works. The main topics are: role of formal and informal institutions; processes of institutional change; multi-level governance; role of the State and its evolution; local authorities and poverty reduction; functioning of the EU; Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
