Learning Objectives
- Knowledge: facts and thems of the economy and development of productive systems, within great contemporary tendencies in national and international institutions, markets, technologies; phases and cycles of the Italian economy from the 1945 to the great crisis of 2007-2008 and beyond, with specific regard to Italy and its productive systems, within the European context and the international division of labour.
- Competence: kwnow how to identify the variety of forms of organization and territorial embeddedness of contemporary productive systems; know how to identify the principles of competiveness and development od such systems.
- Capacity: in general the ability to apply micor and macro economic models to the interpretation of specific problems of productive systems, in particular in the contemporary Italian and European context; for the students of the curriculum Economia e turismo, also the ability to draw reports and presentations on charcaters and perspectives of touristic markets and systems, with particular regard to the organization in forms of touristic districts and local systems; for the students of the curriculum Economia e Commercio and others, also the ability to draw reports and presentations on characters of productive systems of SMES and Large firms, with particular regards to models of industrial districts and local development.
The course aims at contributing to the cultural background of undergraduate students in Economics, in particular in LT EC, stimulating them to apply general models and concepts of micro and macro economics to facts and themes of real-world productive systems, in the context of the Italian and European economy. This is useful for a personalized approach to job placement, in particular under the profiles targetted by LT EC, but also for progressing in the university education, within graduate curricula in economics. The course is a useful introduction to concepts to be developed within specialistic courses of industrial economics and policy, industrial organization, economics and management of touristic systems.

Teaching Methods
Lectures (32 hours), exercises (6 hours), seminars (4 hours); attending students may elaborate presentations on cases related to the topics of the course and some of them are discusses within the laboratories of the course (6 hours)
