Learning Objectives
The main educational goal of the course is to provide basic knowledge and skills for the quantitative analysis of the tourist phenomenon.
In particular, the course aims to provide the following knowledge, competencies and skills.
Knowledge and understanding: Official statistical sources for tourism and related metadata. Theoretical foundations of linear time series analysis.
Application of knowledge and understanding: the student will acquire the methodological bases that make her/him able to interpret the results of the application of the methods of analysis learned in class, with special attention to the nature and reliability of the analyzed data and to the potentialities and limits of used methods.
She/he will be able to construct and interpret in a correct way the tourism sector indicators as a guide tool for the political decision-maker.
Prerequisites
It is assumed that students are familiar with basic descriptive and inferential statistics (topics covered in B018993-STATISTICA).

Type of Assessment
The exams will be oral.
The questions will cover the whole program specified in the Syllabus "Course program" section.
The interview will assess the level of understanding of the topics covered in the course, the capacity for critical reasoning, the quality of the exposure and the mastery of technical language and specialist vocabulary inherent in the context of interest. During the interview, demonstrations and exhibitions will be required that require you to write the answer or part of it on a sheet.
