The course aims to give a complete view of the financial markets and the main monetary policies carried out by Central Banks.

The course aims to develop knowledge on financial intermediation sectors other than traditional banking. In particular, the student will be able to develop skills related to the managerial and organizational issues in the financial institutions. The student will be able to analyze the main services and products offered by financial institutions on financial markets. The objectives of the course also include the increase of knowledge on the main regulatory issues that concern the financial sectors analyzed, defining the connections between the evolution of the rules and the management of financial intermediaries. The course also allows the development of communication skills and understanding of news and studies related to the financial system, through the use of a specialized lexicon and the analysis of real case studies.

Oral exam, including open questions (relating to the management of financial intermediaries and the related risks). The exam lasts about 20 minutes. The evaluation will focus on the quality of the exposure, also taking into account the specific vocabulary of the sector, and on the student's ability to develop a critical reasoning on the study carried out, demonstrating ability to interpret facts and real cases.
