The course deals with the development of the economic theories from Mercantislism up to the most recent trends of the economic thought. A particular deepening will be dedicated to authors such as A. Smith, D. Ricardo, K. Marx, the founders of Marginalism, A. Marshall, J. A. Schumpeter, J. M. Keynes, and the new classical macroeconomics
