The course content is articulated in 6 macro-elements:
(1) INTRODUCTION TO SUPPLY CHAINs (SCs) AND STRATEGIES FOR DESIGNING AND ANALYZING THEM
(2) DESIGNING AND CONFIGURING THE SC NETWORK
(3) PLAN AND COORDINATE DEMAND AND SUPPLY IN SCs
(4) PLAN AND MANAGE INVENTORIES IN AN SC
(5) DESIGN AND PLAN TRANSPORTATION IN AN SC
(6) MANAGE DRIVERS AND PERFORMANCE EVALUATION METRICS IN SCs
Supply Chain Management: Strategy, Planning, and Operation (7th Edition), Chopra S.

Type of Assessment
In-class discussion of exercises, examples and case studies that support understanding the theoretical concepts introduced in each lecture. Final assessment through oral examination, during which the student will be required to: (i) answer open-ended questions on the concepts explored during the course (demonstrating an understanding of both the recommended textbook and the handouts constituting an integral part of the compulsory course material); (ii) critically analyze practical case studies, commenting on them qualitatively and quantitatively; (iii) solve eventual exercises through models and methods introduced during the course.
